Hello, Summertime!

Summer is finally here - it's beach volleyball season!  As many people may know, you don't need to be on a beach to play beach volleyball, so in many places it's just referred to as "sand" volleyball.  This year I'm playing in a competitive league at a bar in South Lansing with my team, Jingleheimer Schmidt (or, since the bar only goes by captains' first names, Team Jacob).  Jon, Jacob, Jackie, and I are a pretty sweet volleyball squad, and we have some great substitute players, too.  Just this week, we were graced with the presence of Chief, one of our co-workers, and he was fantastic!  We won 4 out of 6 games, which was our best weekly record yet.


Also in the realm of summertime, I had my first "Big Chill" of the year (from Biggby).  I don't normally order cold coffee drinks, even in the heat of Michigan summer, but today was such a wonderfully sunny, warm day (and yes, it could have been warmer, but for an Ice Princess, this was a heat wave!) that I decided I just had to have a triple grande caramel marvel big chill (with skim milk, of course <-- gotta save those calories... so that I can get whipped cream ;-P).  It was delicious!
